Team Trailer Name and Design


These five images are our team logo's that we created, we had to each vote on the logo that we thought was best, the logo in the top right will be our team logo, there are going to be some adjustments added to the logo such as a smoky image of Titus Salt in the midst of the image.

My logo is the bottom right hand logo, it is a simple logo with greek and egyptian text for the game trailer name. The top half is in Greek and i have changed some of the letters so it looks like a stylised text font, the bottom text is in a sort of egyptian font, as i didnt want it to stand out as much because it is the second part of the logo, and so it isnt as important as the first. I chose a fire and sand texture for each side of the image as i wanted to implement them into my logo, if i had more time i could make it look much better with a much more professional look because at the moment, you can see where the sand ends and the fire begins. The point of the fire and sand is to show that, my part of the trailer will be a sort of modernized egyptian temple feel to the tomb, and also that there will be various torches scattered around the tomb, hence why the fire is included in the logo.

Project Plan

Our team's project , the game trailer named "The Awoken : Guardians Of Titus" is going to be an apocalyptic future with destroyed buildings, in the location there is going to be a university with a few buildings surrounding the area, inside the university there will be a memorial, which will be a large statue with a hidden entrance, this hidden entrance will have stairs leading down to the tomb of Titus Salt.

I am going to be designing the memorial inside of the university and also i will be modelling the tomb of Titus Salt, also the various items that litter the tomb, aswell as modelling both of these environments I will be making my own textures for both the tomb and the memorial.

The other members of my team will be doing :

Lewis - radio, radio dialogue and spectre
Joe - concepts, voice overs, splash screens textures, creative art, textures
Alex - sky dome, destructive environments
Rob - village architecture

We will each also be making some sort of marketing advertisment

Saltaire Environment Building

Today in 3D max we learnt further into making environments, we started to build the basic design of a building, by using simple shapes and extruding. We started off by making the windowsill with the arch and then i added a window with a blue material and turned the opacity down so it looked more realistic, i then added a wall to the building and i am now continuing to make the rest of the building such as the top windows, then the roof and chimney.

A Simple Environment

Today we made a simple but effective environment using Adobe Photoshop and Autodesk 3D Max. First of all we went into Photoshop and created a new document which was 512 by 512 pixels with 72 resolution, we then added two clouds effects and then a further difference cloud effect, then in 3d max we created a plane and added a displacement modifier to make a jagged mountaneous landscape, further in photoshop we added more effects such as adding more shades of brown and adding overlay effects to make the texture look more realistic, we then finally placed the texture onto our landscape and added further planes in the background which resembled the sky texture. Planning An Environment

We had previously gone out in our teams equipped with DSLR cameras and had to take pictures of our chosen environment, our teams chosen environment was Roberts Park, a very spaced out part of Saltaire located next to the river aire it contains a large grassy plain, with a cafe at one side, and a bandstand, at the other side is a playground with a skate park adjacent to it. Once our teams had taken the pictures we wanted of the landscape, we had to draw these on A3 Cartridge paper in two versions : The first version was a simple black and white drawing done using Fineliner pens, and the second version was split into four parts : Fineliner, Pastels, Pencil Crayon, and Felt Tip Pens

I havent quite finished my drawings as yet but below is the image that i took and what my drawings are of.
